I am a veteran teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience that spans over three continents. A mother of two and a grandmother to two lovely girls. As a member of  the Sugar Land community for almost 20 years, it gives me great pleasure to be able to unlock childrens' creative, social and academic potential in preparing them for school. The Progressive Daycare has been in operation since 2011 as a CDA certified institution.

About Us

Every teacher is highly trained, skilled and dedicated to provide your child the most individualized attention and care in a dynamic learning environment to ensure your child reaches his or her full potential. The teacher to child ratio is always maintained at 1:3 with a maximum enrollment of 12 children at all times.

To ensure staff quality, we developed a customized screening process to select highly competent teachers and care staff. A probationary pre-hiring period of 6months, while training in-house uniquely identifies high-quality candidates; only teachers best suited to meet the needs of the daycare are retained.

We thoroughly vet our teaching staff and their references along with conducting background checks based on state and/or local licensing requirements. This includes fingerprinting and appropriate criminal background checks, as well as verification of educational credentials. Candidates that transport children undergo a thorough driving history check and vehicle inspection.

In addition, all Progressive Day Care educators:

  • Are state certified and meet all state child-care requirements

  • Complete extensive training in our standards of care and curriculum

  • Train in-depth on child-care and child-development milestones

  • Receive ongoing yearly professional development training in accordance with the latest evidence based best teaching practices and techniques.

Clean and Green

  • Cleanliness is vital, so we take significant precautions to keep bacteria and other contaminants at bay.

  • In the infant areas, all teachers and staff wear booties and gloves as needed to limit the spread of germs.

  • All spaces that children come in contact with are regularly disinfected including toys/books.

  • Every attempt is made to recycle all plastic and paper products in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.

  • Food preparation is done on a daily basis using the freshest organic produce sourced from local farmers.

Safety FIRST

  • Providing a safe, secure environment is our first priority. We make every effort to keep your child safe, happy and healthy.

  • Every location has procedures and standards that are strictly enforced.

  • Secure lobby and classroom. All visitors are greeted at the door to sign in and be assisted by a staff member.

  • Visitor precautions. Photo ID is required from all unfamiliar visitors. A visitor listed as authorized to pick up a child must still show photo ID if they are not familiar to the school director and/or assistant director.

  • Equipment safety. One of our many precautions is “non-tippable,” child-sized tables. All electrical outlets are baby-proofed.

Nutritional Focus

  • Menus include a variety of foods which meet daily nutritional needs and satisfy licensing requirements. When substitutions are necessary, we’ll maintain the nutritional content of the overall menu and post updates so you know what’s been served each day. Meals include fresh vegetables and fruits, nonfat or low-fat dairy products (milk, yogurt, cheeses), lean meats (chicken, turkey, fish, lean hamburger), and whole grain cereals and bread.

  • Meals are served hot and fresh family style which includes your child assisting in areas such as: table setting, food serving and/or cleaning up.

  • View the sample weekly menu that offers examples of the healthy options we offer for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks.

  • We encourage children to sample new foods and taste what is being served. However, we cannot require children to eat or force them if they choose not to eat all foods served. Please speak with your school director if you have specific concerns because of:

  • Religious reasons

  • Special dietary needs

  • Allergies or other considerations
